Epic collaborated with Ex Machina to create a seamless and engaging web platform for their Fortnite-based Coachella campaign. With a festival-inspired vibe, the campaign sought to integrate in-game quests and rewards inspired by the real-world Coachella festival.

The web client needed to support user registration and enable players to earn rewards by participating in creative maps and quests. The interface had to promote the Coachella event while hosting various functionalities such as task descriptions, reward status, FAQs, and real-time progress. All while being mobile-responsive and accessible across multiple browsers.

SOLUTION

Merging Creativity with Technology

The Ex Machina design process started with an exploration phase to outline the project’s scope and followed by a design phase, which included multiple design iterations based on feedback. A CMS (Content Management System) was integrated for real-time analytics and campaign management. Server-side, EPIC API integrations managed authentication, real-time user progress, and rewards. To ensure accessibility the website was made to comply with WGAC 2.1 AA standards.
